Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- safely operate a robotic welding system
- understand welding processes
- manipulate welding parameters
- have a basic understanding of metallurgy
- have an understanding of welder set-up
- have an overview of non-destructive testing
- have an understanding of weld consumables
- have an overview of select AWS specifications

- Shielding gas and applications
- Implementing and understanding the relationship of amperage, voltage and travel speed along with torch angles
- Welding steel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminum along with a discussion on pre-heat and post-heat
- Setting up weave tables, touch sense tables, seam tracking and coordinated motion with a discussion of automatic voltage control and adaptive fill
- Weld defects and discontinuities
