Non-Destructive Inspection

Genesis – Non-Destructive Inspection – Robotic Automation

Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Inspection of Composites

Increase accuracy, reliability and productivity while reducing costs of Non Destructive Inspection (NDI).  Now, more than ever, the increasing demand for automated NDI Systems requires more advanced capabilities, opposed to traditional manual methods.  Genesis has co-developed a world-class solution utilizing proprietary software for inspection of high-value composite components.

Aerospace customers require a high level of accuracy and repeatability. Quality requirements dictate traceability and ease of use. We have successfully met these challenges and exceeded expectations in the areas of productivity and labor savings.

Genesis’ NDI systems combine ultrasonic inspection data with robot positional data and present it as A-Scan, B-Scan and C-Scan images. With the NSpect robotic NDI System, inspectors can focus on interpreting the test data instead of performing manual inspections.

Accuracy & Repeatability

  • Joining forces with KUKA Robotics, Genesis has developed the most accurate robotic automation systems in the industry.
  • Reliably finding and detecting the smallest defects within composite components requires path accuracy and repeatability.  Complex shapes require a high level of motion control only possible with a robotic system.

Reliability & Experience

Genesis Systems Group has been providing robotic automation solutions for nearly 30 years. With over 4500 systems installed globally, we have proven our ability to produce robust motion control systems for our customers.

Productivity & Labor Savings

Taking Genesis experience to the next level, Non-Destructive Inspection Systems have placed us at the cutting edge of productivity and labor savings. Our Inspection Systems can be operated with minimal labor, reducing demand for Level III involvement. American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Level II Inspectors can review inspection results remotely, print out inspection reports, and monitor all inspection practices. Our proprietary software and ease of use enables employers to maximize the labor applied to its inspection practices.

Flexibility

  • Traditional gantry systems offer little flexibility. Typically, gantry systems are developed with a limited working envelope. Load/unload time brings the actual inspection system to a stand-still. By configuring an NSpect system with multiple inspection stations, your per-machine inspection throughput will improve dramatically since the robot can perform an inspection on one station while the next inspection is being setup on the other station.
  • Proprietary software enables operators to “teach” the actual shape of the components easily, thus greatly improving system performance and productivity.
  • Multiple process (air-coupled, water-coupled, Through Transmission Ultrasonic (TTU) and Pulse Echo) can be integrated into the same system. Quick-change tools and automated tool change over improve system performance and reduce labor content.

If inspection of composite components has become a real challenge for you, it’s time to call Genesis. Leverage our 29 years and 4,500 robotic systems-worth of automation experience to meet your Non-Destruction Inspection needs.

Genesis offers:

  • Real time A-Scan, B-Scan, C-Scan images
